SLI365 is a trading style of Covéa Life Limited and we provide military life insurance cover. Since 30th April, we have been closed to new applications but continue to provide cover to our existing policyholders.

FAQs

  • Does the fact you are not accepting new applications affect my policy? This will not affect your policy in any way, your cover will remain in force until your policy term expires or you cancel your policy, whichever occurs first.
  • Will my premiums increase? NO - They will remain the same throughout your chosen term, even if you leave the Services.
  • Who will benefit from my SLI365 policy? Your loved ones - Wife, Partner, Children, Parents - it's your choice.
  • Should I consider putting my policy in Trust?

    Completing a trust form and thus putting your policy in trust may suit your personal circumstances. Your policy then effectively becomes "owned" by your trustees (you can be a trustee) and on your death, the policy proceeds can be distributed by your trustees according to your wishes as expressed in the trust. This could speed up the process of getting the policy benefits to your loved ones.

    We can supply you with a trust form, but we cannot advise whether setting up a trust is suitable for you. There are important legal aspects involved (for example you need to make sure that your trust form does not clash with the terms of any will you may have made) and you must take independent legal advice from a properly qualified person.

  • Is my cover active for war risks whilst I'm on deployment - and what happens if I leave the Services? YES - War and terrorism cover applies both to Regulars and Reserves on deployment. However, this particular aspect of your cover will cease to remain in force once you leave the Services.
  • Why can’t I buy a new policy? Covéa Life are no longer under contract with the MOD to provide life insurance for new policyholders.
